The Riviera of Opatija has an exciting mix of different products, which can be offered to the tourist, and it enjoys a stable market share. The tourism destination management needs information for solving numerous problems avoiding excessive concentrations of people in all spaces and places, but also for sustainable development of all subjects in destination offer. Quality is rapidly becoming the decisive competitive instrument in tourism, and quality information is vital for a successful tourism destination product development. The tourism destination management has the goal to introduce the innovation effectiveness in the tourist destination product, from identifying through selecting and delivering opportunities and realizing benefits. Careful data collection provides the tool for making the right management decisions. Effectiveness innovation destination's quality management is connected with information on customers and market understanding, but also with choice of best theoretical and practical organizations model. Size, location or type of destination management organization has to be based on best practice (benchmarking), which lies on the idea that the best way to learn is from the experience of others, but also in which will be included specific local needs (measuring, monitoring). The objective of this paper shows the approach of integrated quality information system, necessary at the level of the tourism destination the Riviera of Opatija (County Primorsko-Goranska, Republic of Croatia), based on fundamental concepts of authority, participation, motivation, accountability and control.
