Hemiplegia: The Initial Abnormal Signs
Spastic hemiplegia is characterised by a unilateral paresis that nearly always affects the upper extremity to a greater amount than the lower and that is ultimately associated with some spasticity and flexion contracutre of the affected limbs. The aim of this study was to rule out first signs and time when it is first recognised. The starting point was thirteen record of children with hemiplegia at child physiotherapist's department. The diagnosis were established at last visit with median age of 3.5 years. All children were seen from 1986 to 1991.
