Multidimensional Simulation of Soot Formation in Diesel Engines

Environment issues have been in the public focus for decades, resulting in various steps to, amongst many other, prevent or minimize dangerous emissions. With the general traffic (transformation of the chemical energy into mechanical) being the main source of the emissions discussed here, main focus of this paper will be the possible ways to minimize emissions in this region. Heavy duty engine (trucks, busses) was used, which included two other specific moments, control volume mesh that deforms in time, and mathematical spray fuel introduction as opposed to the usual inlet boundary. Since the subject of this evaluation is compression and expansion engine stroke, simulations of the exhaust and intake were not performed, and for the spray introduction special mathematical model is used.
