A new approach for regional logistic system evaluation

Small and medium enterprises represent a successful model of alternative industrial organisation. In this context logistic and transportation activities are particularly relevant since productive activities and residencies are remarkably diffused, which implies an elevated mobility and environmental problems. The new approach for regional logistics system evaluation according to region accessibility, products and supply chain organisation, based on qualitative and quantitative factors, is presented in the paper. Such methodology should provide comparison between regions, support clustering process and provide an instrument for defining congruent logistic strategies. Methodology principles, logic and results are explained in the case of Varaždin County.
