New Aproach to Reinforced Arch Bridge Construction
ABSTRACT. Using experiences of world famous cantilever building technologies for large concrete arch bridges built on Adriatic coast: The Šibenik Bridge, The Pag Bridge, The Krk Bridge and The Maslenica Bridge, the new original structures and building technologies for large precast arch bridges made of RPC, high performance s reactive powder concrete with compressive strength of 200 to 800 MPa, bending stress of 40 tO 70 MPa and high ductility, have been designed and analyzed. Match - cast segments of the bridges are factory/produced. An original bridge construction has been proposed: building the arch by a suspended cantilever method with a fan stays arrangement and the superstructure by incremental launching from both ends without structural steel launching nose and simultaneous construction ofpiers and regulation of the grade line height.
