The Accumulation of Toxic Metals by Ion-Exchange Resins
Accumulation of lead(II) and cadmium(II) by chelating resins with the purpose of separating toxic heavy metals from natural waters, sea waters and waste waters has been described by several authors. Nitric acid is used as the binding medium and chlorides are used for elution. In our work simple exchange effects were studied in the temperature range of 293-333K in order to establish the effect of temperature on the binding of lead(II) and cadmium(II) from waters contaminated with these heavy metals.
