Inoculation of sugar beet seed by the bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens - chemical fungicides alternative
Efficiency of sugar beet seed treatment by the bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens and fungicides Thiram 42-S & Dithane S-60 with and without seed bacterization aiming to control root decay agent – Pythium ultimum and Pythium debarianum was investigated in the two years period on two soil types (Mollic Gleysols and Eutric Cambisols). The following parameters of sugar beet yield and quality were investigated: root yield, sugar content, sugar in molasses as well as sugar yield. Best results of these investigated parameters were obtained by pre- sowing seed inoculation with bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens in combination with Thiram 42-S fungicide low dose.
