Finite element shear stress analysis of welded joints
In present time optimal design and modern industry are based on the high computer performances. Welded technology is one of the oldest processes used in metal-working industry. It is known that no simple method is available for determining the reliability of a welded joint. Similar, no simple experimental method is available to make a good stress analysis in a complicated welded joint, particularly depends on its place in considered structure. In this paper numerical shear stress analysis is presented based on axial displacements of used finite elements. Finite element stiffness matrix as well as load vector are based on geometrical properties of used finite element. One example is shown. The obtained results are comparing with well known numerical solutions.
