Dynamic Mechanical Behaviour of Styrene - Butadiene Copolymers and Their Blends
The dynamic mechanical behaviour of impact polystyrene, PS-HI, styrene-butadiene-styrene block copolymer, SBS, and PS-HI/SBS blends were investigated. In the first series of the investigations the characterisation of investigated multicomponent systems was done in the conditions of dynamic - mechanical load by DMA analysis in the temperature range -100 to 100 C. The primary viscoelastic functions were determined. In the second series of the investigations PS-HI, SBS and PS-HI/SBS blends were investigated in creepfatigue regime, and relaxation were followed at temperatures 25, 30,35 40 and 45 C. The effect of the time on modules changes was obtained by generated the master curves. The primary viscoelastic functions and creep modulus were correlated with the content of the hard phase polystyrene, PS, and the soft phase polybutadiene, PB. The results obtained show that primary viscoelastic functions and strain relaxations, creep, recovery and creep modulus depend on the amount of PS and PB phases as well as time and temperature and are due to the structural characteristic of examined systems and their changes in the conditions of the investigations.
