Resonant Spectrum in Hazard Analysis of Seismic Loading of Structures
This paper presents an analysis of the seismic loading of structures obtained by combined windows-wavelet transformation (WWT) of ground accelerations. WWT separates an acceleration harmonic impulse from seismic action, named resonant spectrum input (RSI). Each RSI action causes SDOF response acceleration spectrum (RAS). RAS shows approximately twice stronger acceleration response due to standard response spectrum. Examples of three earthquake accelerograms show that the maximum RAS is obtained for the short impulse time duration, not longer then the single period T. RAS is the most unfavourable hypothetical response which SDOF can obtain.
