Transformation of γ -AlOOH (boehmite) and Al(OH)3 (gibbsite) to α -Al2O3 (corundum) induced by high energy ball milling
The milling of boehmite and gibbsite was performed in a planetary mill and the powders were analysed by X-ray diffraction. The obtained results indicate the equivalence of milling and heat treatment for transition of boehmite and gibbsite to corundum.
