Lead poisoning and renal function: relationship with trace elements and immune response
The relationship between chronic lead poisoning, kidney function, blood pressure, anaemia, T and B lymphocytes and concentration of Zn, Cu, Ca, Fe, and Mg in serum was investigated in 66 lead exposed workers. Our results suggest that chronic lead poisoning can cause an impairment of renal function and some concomitant changes of immune response. Trace elements are related with hematological and immunological changes in chronic lead poisoning.
