Adjustment of Eurocodes for bridge design in Croatia

With Technical Code for concrete structures that came into force recently, rules defined in new Croatian standards have become mandatory for reinforced and prestressed concrete bridge design. Croatian standards implement European pre-standards. In this paper adjustments of European pre-standards (ENV) through specific climate, environment and traffic circumstances given in Croatian National Application Documents are shown. In the near future Croatia shall have to implement European standards (EN) already accepted in some European countries, so some comparisons between new Croatian norms and EN norms have been performed. Based on this analysis the opinion of the authors is that EN norms have to be implemented in Croatia as soon as possible.
