Religiosity, Gender and Socio-Ecological Orientations in Croatia
This exposition is analyzing relations between gender structure, religiosity and socio-ecological orientations in the contemporary Croatian society. After democratic changes in Croatia, the influence of modernization and individualization is getting stronger, specially in the fields of gender role and re-position of religion role. This exposition is based on the results of empirical reaserch « ; Modernization and Identity in Croatian society» ; conducted during the year 2004 on representative sample of 1202 Croatian citizens (48, 1% male and 51, 9% female). In this sense we are useing two instruments, one for religiosity and one for socio-ecological oritentations. First one is based on Glock-Stark dimensions of religiosity and second one is based on instrument with twelve statements from which we got (with factor analysis) three socio-ecological dimensions: anthropocentrism, technocentrism and ecocentrism. The main thesis of this exposition is that female and more religious examinees will be more favourable to ecocentrism and male and less religious examinees will be more favourable to technocentrism.
