Relationship among education levels and physical load indices in Eurofit questionnaire

An important part of the assessment of health related fitness in Eurofit investigations is a questionnaire dealing with the profesional, leisure and recreation/sport life. According to the data revealed from the applied questionnaire in epidemiological use, it is possible, among others to get an insight in education level and physical load at the job, in householding and in recreation or sport activities of investigated subjects . During 1997, the Eurofit project was performed in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. The sample comprised 594 persons of both genders, 19-65 years old (x=42, 94 SD 7, 82) employed in different firms and enterprises. original data were divided in subgroups according to the education level (elementary school(N=128), secondary school (N=119), and then processed in t-test in statistic for Windows. It was obvious that work index declined statistically significant from elementary school to university degree, sport index on the contrary rised in the mentioned direction and leisure time index was not significantly different in observed groups. The conclusion was that employed persons of elementary education level have the greatest physical load at their proffessional work, and those with university level the least. but the later are much more involved in sports and recreation activities.
