The Influence of Ultrasound on Mechanical Properties of Coated Fabrics

Aim of this work was to researched and established influence of ultrasound treatment on mechanical properties of coated products. To investigation were submit polyurethane coated fabrics different construction characteristics, which are assignment for manufacture different produce with aim of longer period of time like are furniture and protective clothing with assumption that they are expose to the influence of the water (protective waistcoat, upholstery on powerboats and similar). Water takes effect on polyurethane coating with seriously damaged, which reacted on the ester and urethane bonds with products of reaction (glycol and acids) which are catalysis for next reaction. Such change of coated silk causes reducing of the strength and decrease usage of duration of products. As was in earlier research determinate positive impact of ultrasound treatment on reduction tendency textile fibres ageing, on removal oligomers from polyesther fibres and similar [] and aim of these research was to examined and established if ultrasound treatment can cause changes whose result improve usage properties of coated fabrics. Calculate on the cavitation effect based on characteristics physical and chemical impact which are achieved with ultrasound treatment, examined was influence of this pre-treatment on mechanical properties textile coated products. Ultrasound pre-treatment of samples was carried out with ultrasound waves of frequency of 30 kHz at the different temperatures and different period of time. Through the different combinations of temperatures and period of time ultrasound treatment, was attempt to find optimum conditions to achieve improving physical – mechanical properties of treated samples. For determination and evaluation activity of ultrasound was researched mechanical properties like basally parameters for evaluation usage properties i.e. durability of materials in application. In order to get completely access in achieve changes, was applied different methods and processes examine strength, where samples were submit different forces and stresses due step of tearing in form of strip, determination of fabrics on further tearing with trapezoidal method and steel ball method. It is determined that ultrasound treatment affects on specified characteristics, but influence is not uniformity for all samples, already volatile depends on construction characteristics of samples.
