Typology of Mamagers According to Management Systems and Trends

The paper entitled “ Typology of Managers According to Management Systems and Trends” presents the methodology used by the author in determining managerial types. This methodology presupposes eight types of managers, classified in accordance to 160 criteria. These categories involve autocratic, democratic, consultative and participative managers, and “ new-style” , “ old-style” , entrepreneurial and administrative-bureaucratic managers. The methodology used in typing managers has been tested on the hotel system of Istria (Croatia) involving nine large companies, which at the time of the study accounted for more than 95 per cent of the total number of overnights in Istria, and at a national level claimed a 16 per cent and a 53 per cent share of domestic and foreign tourist traffic, respectively.
