Health of the Soul (Plato, Timaeus 87c1-90d7)
A detailed analysis of Plato's Timaeus 87c1-90d7. In this section, Plato insists that diseases of the body and diseases of the soul are not two separate classes of diseases. What is more, from the perspective of this section, there is no substantial difference between disease and vice, or between health and virtue. All these are good or bad states of the composite human being. So Plato’ s problem is to show the only way for composite human beings to achieve goodness.
