Ekonomska osnova razvoja sportskog turizma na primjeru modela poduzetništva / Economic basis of the development of sports tourism exemplified by a model of enterpreneurship
Starting from the cognizance of sport as one of the main factors of the development of contemporary tourism, this paper analyses and presents the relationships between tourism and sport, as well as certain possibilities of the development of sports tourism by applying the concept of entrepreneurship. The entrepreneurial process in tourism is based on private property itself, as well as on market and economic criteria. This article presents one entrepreneurial model in tourism and sport, namely, the model of tennis. This model shows that entrepreneurial programmes in sports tourism can be profitable provided that particular economic criteria and appropriate methodology be taken into account. Apart from entrepreneurial goals such models create possibilities of a wider and more intensive development of tennis, as well as of other sports in tourism, which gives them a special social value that goes beyond the boundaries of tourism.
