Optimization Of Tool Motion On A 2-Dimensional Surface By Means Of The Genetic Algorithm
The genetic algorithm as compared to the stochastic method, finds out in substantially shorter time quite a satisfactory solution. Such an obtained solution need not necessarily be the very best solution, unlike the stochastic method, which will give the best solution, but in a much longer time span. This genetic algorithm may be implemented while defining the best paths of motions between two given points on a 2-D geometric surface with the aim of crossing the whole surface. Apart from surface processing by milling, the algorithm could also be used in other scientific fields and branches such as optimized path of aerial spraying to optimized robot movement in painting, as well as in various aspects of distribution. The researches into the genetic algorithm for optimization will be carried on in the future time by adding technological parameters in defining the path qualities.
