Possibility of reduced soil tillage for winter wheat in Eastern Cratia conditions
Field experiments with soil tillage treatments for winter wheat (A1= ploughing; A2= discing; A3= tillage by multitiller; A4= tillage by rototiller + sowing by Rotosem; A5= ploughing, sowing by Rotosem) during of 1992/93-1995/96 years, carried out on humogley in Eastern Croatia, showed the following: Although conventional soil tillage was dominant considering yield amount in carried out investigations, some other alternative solutions in soil tillage turned out to be successfull in the above mentioned conditions. Variant of ploughing and sowing by Rotosem (A5) turned out as a very successfull one and also with graet deal disc harrowing variant (A2), too. Somewhat worse, but acceptable, turned out to be seedbed preparation by multitiller (A3). Sowing by Rotosem withought ploughing (A4) revealed, apart from low yields, serious technical constraints (low effects, strong resistance of dry soil, intensive vibrations and machines wearing out).
