Cultural differences in palliative care - Croatian experience
For the future development of palliative care, it will be important to recognize the growing cultural diversity of patients. The concepts related to the palliative care parctices and concepts of "good death" are coherent with the major values of western cultures. What about cultural values that are different? What consequences do different cultural values have for the practice of palliative care? In this paper, the Croatian experience of palliative care will be presented. The possible cultural differences in palliative care practices will be investigated. A comparison with other palliative care practices in Europe and the world will be explored.
