Motor Vehicle Approval Scheme Trough ECE Regulations in Croatia
 Republic of Croatia was the 25th country to sign the Agreement on adoption of uniform conditions for approval and reciprocal recognition of motor vehicle approval equipment and parts which was developed in Geneva on March 20, 1958. Presently, only 54 out of the total number of 104 regulations are in force in Croatia, but a considerable increase in their number is expected soon. In 1993, The Vehicle Approval Service was established within the Department for Quality of the State Institute for Standardisation and Metrology. The basic aims to be achieved by the ECE-regulations were reduction of the exhaust polution and increase of safety by restricting the age of imported vehicles. This paper deals with the results of this process after it was going on for a little bit more than one year. The vehicle approval system design was also considered.
