The Future of the Croatian Power Sector
The article gives few possible scenarios of the power sector development in Croatia. The provided Master Plan comprises the period between 2001 and 2030. The 1990s in Europe are characterised by important changes involving politics, technology, organisation and economy as well as the environmental policies, the impact of which will be fully recognised within the first ten or 15 years of the next century. In such times the Croatian power sector needs to redesign its entire set-up, which involves determining the initial positions, aims and pace of changes. It is a very demanding task and great challenge for all developed European countries, and it is much more so for the transitional countries. Regarding Croatia that task is especially onerous because, besides the changes in the European power sector and transition-related problems, the country is facing the problems of after war rehabilitation along with the complex and difficult process of peace establishing in BH, which is all influencing Croatia.
