Control system design using control interpreted Petri net
The article deals with the control system design of anti-heeling system. This system is used on ships during cargo loading and unloading, when the ship may tend to lean to one side. The anti-heeling system is constantly measuring the heeling angle and using a pump, pumps water between two heeling tanks to equal the heeling angle to a zero. This article shows how a Control Interpreted Petri net (CIPN) is used to describe the dynamics of this discrete event system. Using that CIPN model, the creation of the program for the programmable logic controller (PLC), which controls the whole system, is more easier.
