Brushless DC Motor Parameter Identification Based on Locked-rotor and No-load Test
A method is presented for determining brushless DC-motor parameters for the purpose of state variables estimation. The parameter identification procedure, consisting of the experimental test and measuremental test and numerical computation, is based on minimization of the difference between the measured and simulated values for the same operating point. To determine the resistence and the inductance of the stator winding, experimental test by a step change of the reference current were carried out. This produced a current vaweform similiar to the one appearing in the actual drive. In addition, to determine the constant of the back electromotive force a generator no-load test were performed. The results of parameter identification are presented and discussed.
