Open cultural spaces looking for new frontiers
Cultural spaces are defined by flexible borders (linguistic, anthropological, creative, artistic, etc.)that provide for cultural identification and exchange of cultural values. Cultural globalization enhances elimination of such borders through two key-processes: cultural hybridization and emergence of virtual cultures. The concept of new cosmopolitanism (U.Beck)may serve as a model approach to the newly created global situation. However, it has important set-backs: it is not well harmonized with global liberalism and therefore tolerates cultural exclusivism and exclusion of many cultures from the global cultural communication and exchange.
