Verification of the Kinetic Model for Benzene Hydrogenation by Poisoning Experiment
The kinetic of benzene hydrogenation and poisoning of commercial Ni-SiO2-Al2O3 catalyst was studied in isothermal differential flow reactor. The reaction was performed in a kinetic region at temperatures ranging from 403 to 496 K under atmospheric pressure. The rates have been correlated with several power law and Hougen-Watson kinetic model. The rate expression which best fit the data postulates a reaction between the dissociatively adsorbet hydrogen and adsorbet benzene molecules. The poisoning experiments were used for verification of the proposed kinetic model.
