EIT at 5 2S1/2 - 6 2P3/2 transition in a mismatched V-type rubidium system
Induced transparency on a blue probe light in a Doppler broadened V-type mismatched system using a low power near infrared coupling diode laser was experimentally observed. Extensive theoretical model was used which utilizes the three-level V-type scheme. Appropriate modifications were made to take into account the hyperfine splitting of the ground 5 2S1=2 and excited 5 2P3=2 and 6 2P3=2 states. Calculated probe absorption line profiles reproduce with great accuracy measured absorption profiles. The influence of the 5 2P3/2 – 6 2P3/2 unlinked states coherence on the induced transparency was discussed in the context of the used theoretical model.
