The effect of the symbiotic bacteria on the photosynthetic pigments level of the soybean (Glycine max L.) cultivars
In 1997 on experimantal field near Osijek, field trial consisted of two factors random completely block design in five replications was conducted. The aim of this investigation is to test symbiotic efficiency of four indigenous isolates Bradyrhizobium japonicum and reference strain D 344 as well as their effect on soybean photosynthetic pigment level. significantly lower values for number and nodule dry weight was determined on control variants in respect to all inoculated variants while significant difference between indigenous isolates were not determined. Inoculation with all tested B. japonicum strains caused significant yield increase. On the contrary to number and nodule dry weight, statistically significant differences in seed yields were determined between certain B. japonicum strains. Significant effect of soybean cultivar on seed yield was also determined. However, significant difference in content of chlorophyll's, carotenoid's total chlorophyll ration was not determined.
