Thermal conductivities of ferrofluids CoFe2O4/water, gama-Fe2O3/water and gama- Fe2O3/n-decane
Magnetic nanoparticles CoFe2O4 and gama-Fe2O3 (8-15• 10-9 m) have been dispersed in liquid carriers water and n-decane. Thermal conductivities of such produced ferrofluids were measured at 25 °C in magnetic field and they decrease with field strength increasing up to 2-3• 10-2 T, which is followed by near field independence at higher fields. An importance of the field dependent thermal conductivity of ferrofluids is discussed in terms of application suitability in the loudspeakers.
