Diminutives as pioneers of derivational and inflectional development - a cross-linguistic perspective
Diminutives are commonly viewed as being typical of child speech and child directed speech. Their acquisition is studied cross-linguistically to define their impact on the acquisition of morphology in typologically different languages. The languages considered in this articles are Lithuanian, Croatian, Greek and German, as well as Turkish and Hungarian.
