Enhanced learning by experimentation with remote laboratory equipment
Understanding of the basic principles and knowledge of common microprocessor and microcontroller rchitectures are essential feats of modern engineers. Practical knowledge acquired through experimentation on real equipment has the greatest impact on students learning about microcomputers. Personal guidance is often impossible due to spatial or personnel limitations. Remotely accessible laboratory that is easily maintained and available to students round the clock and round the world is one approach to tackling such limitations. In this paper we present the architecture of virtual, remote laboratory system developed to help students gain practical experience. Such a system assists students with their first steps in low- level microcomputer programming.
