CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT FOR ENVIRONMENTAL GEOTECHNICS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF ZAGREB
Environmental education has been included in primary and secondary school curricula in Croatia for years, mainly through the subjects connected to the nature and human health. After signing Bologna declaration in 2001, the reform of higher education system started in accordance with the new Act on Scientific Activity and Higher Education. It presented a possibility to form new study programs within the area of higher education, orientated towards education of specialists for environmental protection. Problems related to environmental protection are of interdisciplinary character, so education of specialists for these fields relate to different scientific areas. This article analyses development of study programs for environmental geotechnics at the University of Zagreb in greater details.
