Clinical Short Answer Questions for Postgraduate Dentistry
St-John Crean, Zarina Shaikh and Liam Addy:Clinical Short Answer Questions for Postgraduate Dentistry// This excellent book was written by experienced teachers from Royal College of Surgeons of England, Faculty of Dental Surgery, with teaching experience in both undergraduate and postgraduate dentistry. In the United Kingdom, postgraduates who wish to pursue specialist training are required to take an oral exam for Membership in the Faculty of Dental Surgery (MFDS). This book is intended to help students when preparing for this postgraduate dental examination. The book consists of two parts: Part I presents 37 case reports with questions and explanations and Part II series of 25 cases with questions and short answers. The main perspectives in solving dental clinical cases covered in Part I include medicine, pathology, oral medicine, oral surgery and general dentistry, and in Part II the main perspective includes restorative dentistry. All the case reports presented in this book are randomly selected examples from everyday dental practice. All of them are accompanied by excellent, mostly coloured illustrations. The references at the end of the book, as guidelines for further understanding of problems, will surely be useful to the reader. Through the book authors remind the reader/dentist how important it is to combine all acquired knowledge and to observe every patient from many different angles. When reading the book, we become aware of advantages of this approach in providing adequate and high-quality dental care. This is why this book is also suitable for undergraduates although it is primarily intended for postgraduates It will help undergraduates to define better the breadth of knowledge they should acquire until the graduation, so that at the very beginning of providing dental care their work could be as good as possible. This type of books contributes to better educational process, as well as to a larger number of quality professionals after graduation.
