SEMI-AUTOMATIC DETERMINATION OF THE CROSS-SECTION IN THE TUNNELS BY MEANS OF THE HAND-HELD LASER METER "LEICA DISTO"
The paper describes the semi-automatic determination of the cross-section in the tunnels by means of the hand-held laser meter Leica - DISTO, a special stencil-plate for setting the distance meter onto the appropriate vertical angles with the accuracy ± ; ; 0, 1° and electronic computer notebook. The notebook offers, as chosen, with the step every five or any another number of degrees for purpose of setting the vertical angle on the stencil-plate. After measuring the distance on that vertical angle measured with "DISTO", to the laser reflex on the rock, the information about the measured distance enters automatically into the notebook. Immediately after recording cross-section, the drawn form of the tagged out cross-section can be obtained on the screen in the tunnel. If the notebook has got the file with the data about the designed cross-section shape stored in it, it can be seen immediately on the screen whether it is necessary to widen the cross-section. This enables the reduction of costs with regard to the additional widening and the costs for unnecessary thick reinforced concrete. Similar equipment and software existed already and software existed already, however the advantage of this one is very low price, and hand-held laser distance meter can be used for other measurement at the building sites as well.
