Bosnian Posavina : international diplomatic legitimization of Serbian occupation and atrocities in Dayton

Taking into consideration all that has been written in this book, and repeated several times over - with particular emphasis on demographic analyses - and also the maps and their captions, photographic documents concerning Serbian crimes committed in Vidovice which, per analogium, indicate that similar crimes have been committed in other occupied Croatian and Muslim settlements ; photodocumentation on churches which have, for the most part, been destroyed, and the fact that Dayton and Paris have gifted almost the whole of Bosnian Posavina to the newly created Serbian State, the people of Posavina are left with little option other than to regard the Dayton Peace Accord as: • the international community richly rewarding aggression and heinous crimes ; • the international community being bent on punishing the victim ; • the international community recognizing gains made through a war of conquest ; • the international community recognizing a State created through atrocities and on the plundered private property of Croats and Muslims ; • the international community legalizing the plunder and destruction of private property. Even though there is no price that a people would accept to leave their homeland, the high and the mighty have ways and means of forcing them to do just that ; • the international community legitimizing and condoning genocide, urbicide, memoricide, culturocide and ecocide ; • a violation of international law ; • a violation of international democratic principles ; • degradation of humanism, civilization, tenets of ethics and morals, of history, of international declarations and resolutions ; • the eradication of the four deaneries of Posavina, where the number of faithful is equal to the combined number of believers in three Croatian dioceses: those of Dubrovnik, the island of Hvar, and the island of Krk ; 94 • denying the more than 500, 000 people of Posavina the right to live in their homeland ; 95 • the legalization of crime. The author wishes to make it quite clear that the people of Posavina, Croats in general, including himself, are by no means against the principle of peace. However, they will never accept a peace that is so blatantly unjust as that imposed by the Dayton Peace Accord, a peace through whose terms the international community has so generously rewarded the Serbian aggressor, by sanctioning the occupation of Bosnian Posavina, and in making it an integral part of the newly created Serbian State. The political solution arrived at in Dayton is nothing less than a CRIME OF GENOCIDE committed against the Croats of Bosnian Posavina who, as recently as 1992 (i.e., immediately prior to the war of aggression launched by the Serbs) made up the relative majority of the population. There is not the slightest doubt that the imposed peace solution will completely alter the ethnic structure of the area, which means that the ethnic, religious and cultural features which once characterized the region will be totally eradicated. Ironically, there are, all over the world, innumerable societies for the protection of endangered birds, animals and plants, predominantly in that part of the world which sets such store in being democratic, and where massive efforts are made to save such species from extinction. And yet, a Peace Accord is arranged in Dayton, one of whose aims is to arrange the extinction in a region where, for centuries, they have comprised a special cultural entity. We would therefore expect that if no one else, then the humane members of those societies for the protection of endangered birds, animals and plants to raise their voices in unison against a political decision that will make Croats extinct in Bosnian Posavina. At the same time, we appeal to the world’ s politicians, diplomats, statesmen and stateswomen, scientists, humanists, Church dignitaries, and all other individuals of good will: speak up for the endangered people, who are now Stateless - if in no other way than in the same way you are prepared to stand up and be counted in the fight for endangered animals - at least they enjoy the protection of the law! The extinction of the Posavina Croats, that is to say, the genocide planned for them, can still be averted if the political decisions forged in Dayton are reversed. I regard everything presented in this book as irrefutable proof that the politicians in Dayton consciously SACRIFICED BOSNIAN POSAVINA FOR THE SAKE OF PEACE. In striving to end the war at almost any cost, short of overt military involvement, Dayton patched together an unjust peace. The politicians involved obviously chose to ignore the old saw about two wrongs not making a right. And Dayton has not only committed a wrong, even worse, it has committed a CRIME against Bosnian Posavina. It is possible, perhaps, that Olympian politicians who have for so long been deciding the fate of many hundreds of thousands of people are unable to comprehend just how much a homeland and a State mean to people in these parts. Depriving more than half a million people of their homes, of their birthright, is hardly an acceptable proposition, even in the interests of peace. Being fully aware of the well-founded that the stipulations contained in Annexe 7 will remain merely a piece of paper as far as Bosnian Posavina is concerned, there exists a very real danger that, figuratively speaking, there will emerge from among the embittered, sorely disappointed and disillusioned people of Posavina, NEW PALESTINIANS, POSAVINA KURDS. This would certainly not be to the lasting credit of Posavina and its people, nor of the international community. The international community must find a way of avoiding the creation of the STATELESS OF POSAVINA. The international community, led by the United States of America and member countries of the Contact Group, should now, after Dayton and Paris, undertake a detailed and painstaking analysis of all the political evaluations, stated and written, of all the general condemnations, bitter protests, signs and placards, epithets, illogicalities, Open Letters, political statements, reports, declarations and, finally, the arguments presented in this book - and it should then decide WHETHER OR NOT ALL THAT IS WELL-FOUNDED. If all, or at least most, of it is discovered to be well-founded, then the United States of America and member countries of the Contact Group will have to find some way of correcting the injustice they have visited upon Bosnian Posavina. Taking into consideration all the arguments that have been presented in this book, the author believes that the political mistakes made in Dayton with regard to Bosnian Posavina should be rectified. Should this not be done, Dayton will become an historical synonym for political injustice, while Bosnian Posavina will forever stand as an indictment of the creators of the Dayton Peace Accord. Bearing in mind that first and foremost the Accord is a political product of the United States of America, it is American politicians, scientists, prominent individuals in the religious and cultural walks of life - specifically the citizens of Dayton, citizens and politicians of the State of Ohio, as well as all other individuals of note, who should now do everything in their power to prevent Dayton from becoming a byword for political injustice. The Dayton Peace Accord must not be allowed to become a negative symbol of international diplomacy. The Americans simply cannot afford to have the injustice, indeed, the CRIME, committed against Bosnian Posavina to be historically linked to their town of Dayton and, therefore, to the United States of America. Based on all that we are permitted to know, I fear that the people of Posavina will never be able to return to and remain in Posavina, to rebuild their homes and settlements from the rubble and ashes to which they have been reduced by a still present former aggressor. A more likely scenario is that those people will continue to die in exile, sorrowing and grieving for their confiscated homeland. As I see it, the problem can be solved only if those who put together such a one-sided deal in Dayton will now correct their mistakes by removing Bosnian Posavina from the political control of the newly created Serbian State in Bosnia & Herzegovina.

Bosanska Posavina - Bosnian Posavina; The Dayton peace treaty - analysis
