Histological and antomical analysis of the female reproductive system of Tabanus sudeticus Zeller 1842 (Diptera:Tabanidae)
The study performed the histological and anatomical analyses of Tabanus sudeticus reprodutive tract, since Tabanus sudeticus is one of the most numerous horse flies species in Croatia. The specimes what we have collected while blood sucking the livestock during june and july were analyzed. Since the Tabanus sudeticus established only one oviposition, we can conclude that this is an autogenous species. Nevertheless, it proves that the blood meal is essential for the egg maturation of Tabanus sudeticus.
