Comparison of the methodologies for measuring the electronic relaxation times in order-disorder lattices: SeO43- in KH2PO4
Electron nuclear double resonanoe (ENDOR) and electron spin echo (ESE) techniques were utilized for measuring the spin-lattice relaxation time (T1) and spin-phase memory time (T(M)) of the SeO43-center in KH2PO4. Comparison of the ESE/ENDOR data with that obtained via the classical CW power saturation techniques showed that the power saturation methods yield T1 and T2 values differing by at least an order of magnitude from the ESE/ENDOR results. Such large errors can mask or artefactually invert the T1/T2 anomalies that generally occur in the phase transition region.
