Perceptibility of Acoustic Signal Drop Time Change
The examination of the perceptibility of acoustic signal drop time was done, according to which man's ability to assess the minimum increment of reverberation time could be gaued. A computer generated the measuring signals. Measurements of percebtibility of change in the increment of the acoustic signal showed that the human hearing apparatus in most cases notices changes in signal amplitude between 2% and 5%. Change is slightly more noticable during the simulation of a longer period of reverberation, i.e., when signal amplitude decreased more slowly, regardless of the central frequency of the signal itself.
