Modeling of a straight thin wire: Comparison of antenna approach and transmission line model
The objective of the paper is related to the assessment of a current distribution induced along a straight thin wire excited at its center by the unit time-harmonic voltage source using both antenna theory and transmission line approach. The Pocklington integro-differencial equation arising from the thin wire antenna theory has been solved via the Galerkin-Bubnov Indirect Boundary Element Method (GB-IBEM) while the related telegrapher’ s equation for straight wires have been solved using the Transmission Line Modeling (TLM) technique. Some illustrative numerical results have been presented in the paper.
