On the effect of an excitation source on the current distribution along a tall tower
The paper deals with two antenna theory models of the telecommunication tower struck by lightning. The lightning induced current along the tower is governed by the homogeneous Pocklington integro-differential equation. The tower is excited by the equivalent current generator, which is incorporated into the model as a boundary condition. The models based on the non-zero current on the perfect (PEC) ground and on the zero-current on the PEC ground are employed. The numerical results obtained by the both models are presented throughout this work, respectively.
