Agravating and mitigating factors in the development of the Burn-out Syndrome
Sixtyfive volunteers of various educational background are included in ongoing project of psychosocial support to refugees and displaced persons from Croatia and Bosnia and Hercegovina who are setled in Rijeka region. Lot of them passed through various traumatic events, few hundreds of them were POWs. After almost three years of work with them at places they are living now, in camps, hotels etc., helpers are showing various reactions on their work with psychotraumatised persons. By using a structured questionary we tried to find out in which way motivation, education, lenth and form of work influence the effects of work with psychotraumatised on helpgivers, when all of them are still in war situation.
