Head injury by missile

Head injury by missile is common with body injuries. In this work we analysed 1600 corpses, being war casualties. Exhumation was affected after 3 years according to anthropometric dimension. Analysis of bone cavity where head injury occurred was carried out by means of video equipment. Programs of computerised graphics were used for simulation of three dimensional head model so that analysis of bone cavity can be effected. Numerical analysis of the cavity was carried out by observing the bone as infinite plate in the centre with a cavity strained by biaxial equal strain. An average elasticity module was used as the bone material. By comparing experimental and numerical data diversity of expansion of the cavity was shown. In dependence on the head bone geometry and the site where the missile passed through the bone. Geometry and missile velocity also influence direction of cavity expansion.
