Adsorption of formaldehyde on particles-Laboratory investigations
In order to find out wether formaldehyde (HCHO) could be adsorbed on particles and penetrate deeper into the lung, laboratory investigations were performed using charcoal and cement dust. That type of dust was used because of particle inacivity, the adsorptive properties of charcoal as well as because of the possible presence in the air of cement dist as a construction material. The results of the ivestigation showed that depending on the particle size, relative humidity, amount of particles and length of contact dust particles could bind 1.1 - 65.4 % of HCHO.
