Division of Reach-to-Grasp Trajectories into phases

In this paper the evaluation of approaching trajectories assessed during grasping performed by healthy subjects is described. The investigation including grasping of three different objects in various poses and 3D recording of the fingertips trajectories was undertaken in 6 healthy volunteers. The aim of the research was the division of the reach-to-grasp movement into characteristic phases and the determination of approaching trajectories variability. The potential use of the approach for rehabilitation purposes is discussed.
