The Third Biennnial Conference of the International Society for Bipolar Disorders was organized in Delhi and Agra in India by the International Society for Bipolar Disorders. It was hosted by Professor Lakshmi Yatham, chairperson of the scientific and organizing committee. The conference included themes related to diagnostic guidelines and treatment of bipolar I and II disorders. The main aim of the congress was to join together mental healthcare professionals including psychiatrists, clinical researchers, pharmacologists, psychologists and social workers from India and abroad, experts in the bipolar disorders research, to organize international collaboration on education and research and to advance the treatment of all aspects of bipolar disorders, in order to improve the outcome of the disease and to improve the quality of life of patients with bipolar disorders and their care takers and family members.
