EDEN: development of new energy technologies
The EDEN Project - Endogenous Development of New Energies – aims to help the creation of a technology platform that contributes to maximize the open opportunities of national development by the show up of Hydrogen Economy. This paper discus some of the results of the third work package of EDEN project which deals with investigation of the application of hydrogen storage technologies in combination with renewable sources in two buildings in Portugal. Investigation included assessment of local available renewable resources, electricity consumption of the building, possibility of integration of different sizes of fuel cells, electrolysers and hydrogen storage with solar PV (Photovoltaic) and small wind turbine technologies. H2RES computer program was used for energy balancing and calculation of different energy consumption and supply patterns.
