Differences in morphological features between first grade pupils in rural and urban primary schools in Lika
Based on the sample of 94 pupils from urban and 101 pupils from rural environment in Lika aged 7, the set of 4 morphological measures was applied in order to objectively cover the existing model of antrophometric tests used in schools. Conducted research has shown the following: pupils in urban environment have higher values in variables: weight, skin fold on the upper arm. Pupils in rural environment have higher values in variables: height, forearm scope. It can be concluded that during topical planning and explicit goal defining it is important to know morphological characteristics of a pupil because of the differences that can be seen between children living in urban or rural environment. Variant analysis shows that there is no statistically important difference between variables in urban and rural environment but higher values in variables weight and skin fold on the upper arm could be conditioned by less physical activities and by gaining weight trend.
