Optimization of the multi-channel A/D conversion for different channel rates
The multiplexing technique is frequently applied to multi-channel analog to digital (A/D) conversion systems. For applications requiring different channel sampling rates, converter utilization depends on channel sequencing during conversion. A new multi-channel A/D conversion method is proposed based on an optimal multiplexing scheme. Application of this method results in a very high converter utilization with required conversion frequency equal to or slightly higher than the sum of the channel sampling frequencies. Simulation results and some aspects of system realization are presented.
